I’ve always had an interest in personal finance. When I was a kid, my investment “portfolio” consisted of baseball cards. I knew the exact value of each of my cards, and I loved the thrill of watching my collection grow through careful trades. As awesome as trading baseball cards were, my financial interests evolved over time. Eventually, I took an interest in becoming a fee-only financial planner.
I believe in fee-only planning because I feel strongly that the focus should always be on the client and what’s in their best financial interest. I have a decade of experience building comprehensive financial plans for families and individuals. Many of the issues my clients are facing I’ve faced, too. It’s fun to strategize together on the best ways to pay down debt, plan for retirement, or save on taxes. Seeing the different opportunities open up for my clients is always exciting. I find setting them up for their brightest financial future to be incredibly rewarding.
For a long time, I worked with an independent firm focusing on high net worth individuals. During my time there, I began to carve out a niche working with physicians and engineers. Soon, I realized it was time to strike out on my own. In 2013, I established Solari Financial Planning, a fee-only financial planning firm.
I wanted my clients to find peace of mind in the fiduciary planning process. As I grew Solari Financial Planning, I quickly started to realize that advisor compensation models can be both complex and confusing. I didn’t want any part of that because my clients always come first. To further my own commitment to objectivity, I incorporated flat-rate ongoing services to make things straightforward and transparent.
The demand for alternative firms like mine has grown. I have offices in Bedford, Nashua NH, and Boston MA. My firm also has the technology to reach clients no matter where they are. I love that I can positively impact the lives of clients everywhere through working as a virtual advisor. While working virtually, I can assist them to work towards a financial plan that fulfills their goals and values. When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling to warm and sunny destinations with my wife, Tracy, and my sons, George and Charlie.
